About Repair-IT-now
The origins
Repair-IT-now came about as a result of seeing and experiencing at first hand the communication problems between tenants, Housing Association repairs call centre staff and the repairs contractors (or DLO) when responding to repair call in a way that would meet all needs.
- The tenant wants a problem fixed.
- The repair contractor wants a clear order
- The accountant wants a clear (and small) invoice for each repair .
The key to the issue seemed to be to get the problem (as described by the tenant) accurately translated into a contractor works order in as few steps as possible for the majority of repairs and without needing skilled operators. Quite a tall order! And one that others have attempted to resolve, but not fully satisfactorily.
How it was developed
We had known Eric Sharpe through other work when he asked us if we could use our software skills to develop the idea through a concept stage and into a working system. This we have achieved, resulting in the product you see, delivering accurate and very cost effective service for our customers.
Since it launch we have expanded its capability. It now provides both a scripted and a graphical problem identification process. This is selectable by individual users if the administrator so wishes. Further, we can send a works order containing multiple items where this is required. We can also make a version of it available via your web site for secure tenant repair ordering, all based on the same, effective, technical solution.
